Yesterday was Grandparent’s Day at Boneo. We had parents, friends and grandparents visiting the computer lab.Students at Boneo are able to choose from 7 languages to study. They learn French, German, Indonesian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and AUSLAN. (Australian Sign Language). With the exception of AUSLAN, all these lessons take place online through self paced instruction. We are very fortunate to have native speakers who come to school to help the students. We had 2 special visitors yesterday. Waranka from France was teaching French games. Waranka has visited us a few times to help our students with their French lessons. Heidi from Finland was talking about the Sami language. The Sami people are the indigenous Finno-Ugric people inhabiting the Arctic area of Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Kola Peninsula of Russia, and the border area between south and middle Sweden and Norway. Our students had an amazing day with their grandparents, Heidi and Waranka visiting. Thanks to all our visitors!
